I provide a clinical psychology service working
with individual adults and couples.
Areas of particular interest to me are depression
and anxiety disorders, loss and grief, post traumatic
stress disorder, relationship difficulties, infertility
and pregnancy, self esteem, managing stress,
and in working with couples to help resolve conflict,
improve communication and develop intimacy.
My training and over thirty years of experience
as a counsellor allow me to draw on a number
of evidence-based therapies to select the most
useful approach for each client. The
information I gain from taking the time to
listen and understand the particular needs
of each client informs the way in which I then
work with that client. This allows me
to work in a flexible and responsive manner
with individuals and couples who may present
with a wide range of needs and goals.
I believe that the process of participating in
therapy can help to find a new view on things,
to explore and identify alternative ways of responding
to events in our lives, and to develop new skills.
With the new awareness this brings comes opportunities
and greater choice in how we live our lives.
I work collaboratively with an emphasis on providing
a professional, safe and supportive environment
in which my clients can move towards the achievement
of their goals.
